Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, popularly known among fans as "Virosh", have filed a formal complaint with Hyderabad's Cyber Crime authorities, seeking an investigation into alleged online harassment, impersonation, manipulated screenshots and fabricated content circulating on social media.

The complaint follows a surge in online trolling after the couple appeared on Koffee With Karan Season 9 on October 21. During the episode, they spoke candidly about their relationship and marriage, with Rashmika revealing that she had asked Vijay to marry her every day for a year. Their remarks subsequently triggered widespread online reactions, including posts that the couple's team claims contain misleading narratives intended to damage their reputation.

In a statement, the team said it had submitted links and supporting evidence relating to allegedly fabricated material, manipulated screenshots and impersonation across digital platforms. It emphasised that criticism and freedom of expression must be respected, but argued that these rights should not extend to presenting fabricated or misleading claims as facts.

The complaint also seeks an investigation into whether any coordinated or paid campaigns were involved in the circulation of the disputed content. The team said each identified instance of potentially unlawful publishing, reposting or amplification could be examined separately, adding that legal remedies would be pursued wherever warranted.

The controversy has also seen unverified claims about the couple's relationship circulate online, including rumours of a possible separation. The actors' team has urged the authorities to examine the evidence and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
